Established in St. Louis, Missouri, the Dr. John Perkins Award exists to recognize people who are making a measurable difference through service, leadership and community development.
The award honors individuals who go beyond recognition — people who invest their time, resources and passion into creating opportunities, restoring hope and strengthening the communities around them.
Through this annual celebration, we highlight stories of courage, faith, innovation and commitment while inspiring a new generation of leaders to continue the work of transformation.

A Legacy of Faith, Reconciliation and Empowerment
Dr. John M. Perkins is internationally recognized as a civil rights leader, author, pastor and community development pioneer whose life work has focused on reconciliation, justice and empowering communities.
Through the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) and decades of grassroots work, Dr. Perkins championed a holistic approach to community transformation built on three principles:
